Mark Warburton will give Rangers new boy Joe Dodoo his debut in Friday's Betfred Cup tie against East Stirlingshire.
The 21-year-old will be on from the start at Ochilview and Warburton has reassured him he will have plenty of opportunity to show the fans what he is capable of in the coming months.
The former Brentford boss said: "Joe is a young player with lots of qualities, lots of attributes, and if he trains well and makes an impression he will get his chance.
"That has to be the case. There is no pre-agendas. If a player comes in and works hard and delivers in training, they will get their opportunity.
"We've lost eight players and brought in nine - with maybe a couple more to come in - but there still has to be a pathway to the first-team."
Warburton is expected to make a number of changes to the team that beat Annan 2-0 at Ibrox for the trip to the Lowland League side but he will be unable to call on midfielder Matt Crooks who remains sidelined with an ankle injury.
