Josep Maria Bartomeu was delighted that Barcelona ended the season on a high note after the Copa del Rey was secured following a 2-0 win over Sevilla.

Goals from Jordi Alba and Neymar wrapped up the silverware in extra-time, with Lionel Messi contributing two assists to inspire the ten men to another trophy.

Bartomeu spoke at length to Telecinco and TV3 in a celebratory manner, given that Luis Enrique had closed out the season in style.

"We were deserved winners.

"Sevilla played very well, but didn't deserve to be champion," reasoned the Blaugrana president.

"We had a great extra-time period.

"We have won the double so we have to be very happy, it is a real high note.

"It isn't quite hitting 10/10, but it is a high note.

"Sevilla were a dignified finalist, after coming from winning the Europa League.

"I am very happy for the players and the fans."

The club president also had some words regarding the decisions to allow Catalan flags to be flown in Madrid, as well as fighting spirit shown by Enrique's players.

"A Barcelona fan is respectful, they deserve to respect their team with whatever flag they like.

"They haven't stopped supporting at any point.

"Both the fans and Iniesta were great, with the latter having a fantastic game.
