Real Madrid got their season off to a flyer on Sunday evening when they defeated Real Sociedad 3-0 at the Estadio de Anoeta, with Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio leading the team to victory in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

With the Welshman yet to win the LaLiga title since arriving in the summer of 2013, he is clearly hungry to deliver the trophy to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and it took him just 72 seconds of the season to score his first goal and to calm any nerves that may have existed with the other two thirds of the BBC missing.

The 27-year-old also netted with the last kick of the match to seal the three goal victory, while Asensio also grabbed a goal on his Real Madrid LaLiga debut, following on from the long-range beauty he netted on his overall debut in the UEFA Super Cup.
